When we read the bible, we assume that we are getting words of
wisdom, straight from the one and only Lord God. But what if we are
wrong? What if there is more than one God? Let me propose this:
* * *
In the beginning there were the gods. The many gods of the
Heavens. Some large, some small, some male, some female, and some that
fell somewhere in-between.
They battled for many years. Fought war with each other in order
to determine who would reign over the vast Heavens, and of all the
universe. And, of course, to determine who would be spared.
After warring for many centuries, they came to the conclusion that
they must devise a more effective means to declare a winner.
To determine the victor, they all came together and created a
battlefield they called Earth. They supplied it with all the essential
elements: air, water, soil, and fire. Then they created the playing
pieces: fish, birds, mammals, reptiles, plants, and even creatures that
fell into none of those categories.
After coming to the conclusion that the playfield was incomplete,
they decided to create an intelligent life. They called it Man. Just
to make their war a little fun, they also created a companion for Man,
and called her Woman.
The rules had now been written: The victor would be the god who
retained the largest number of faithful followers at the end of the
game. The only factor that had to be settled was when the game should
end. So they decided that as soon as a god had no more followers, he
should die.
This would continue until only two gods remained. Then their
followers would fight on the playing field until one of the two sides
were completely defeated. The victorious god would then have the
authority to enslave the defeated god, and do with the universe as He
saw fit. Thus it was written.

You wanna know what's going on here? You play a god. Name him
anything you wish, but remember, if you lose all your followers, your
adversaries get to kill you off.
A couple things to keep in mind as you play: The more followers
you have, the more powerful you become. The fewer followers you have,
the wimpier you get. Play around with ideas, and have fun.
